In Living Memory
In Living Memory is a bittersweet dialogue between my father and I, challenging traditional notions of remembering and forgetting. This video explores my loving and sometimes stormy relationship with my father, an artist and communist, who at age 93, is losing his memory. By the end of the video, it is not clear whether he remembers me, but it no longer matters. The strength and intimacy of our relationship has been established and expanded notions of memory have challenged narrow, conventional views of cognition. Video, 1997, 14 minutes
